Value for your client

A clear benefit for employees. Measurable progress for your client.

Stage Zero helps each person understand their cancer risk, see which screenings may matter and get help completing them.

What employees receive

Employees learn which screenings may matter to them and why. If they want support, a dedicated person helps them find care in their current network, book appointments and understand the next step. Participation is voluntary. Medical decisions stay with employees and their own doctors.

What the employer receives

Employers see how many people complete the assessment, book recommended screenings and close screening gaps. They see only grouped results. They never see individual answers or personal health information. More completed screenings can help find cancer earlier, when care may be less intensive and cost less.

What you receive

You get a focused program that is easy to explain and can start in weeks. You can discuss pricing, published evidence, reporting and compliance documentation openly with your client.

The renewal conversation
Your client asks

What are we doing about cancer costs, and are we meeting the requirement for personal screening navigation?

You can answer

Stage Zero works before a diagnosis. It identifies who may need screening based on personal risk and screening status. Then a dedicated person helps them complete it. The program can launch in weeks and documents the support provided to your client's employees.

A recommendation you can stand behind.

Simple to add

Many clients do not want another large vendor. Stage Zero can start from an eligibility file and launch in weeks. It works alongside existing navigation and cancer programs. It is priced as a focused addition to the health plan.

Built on published guidance

Stage Zero bases its screening support on national guidelines and published risk models. This gives you evidence you can share with a client's medical team.

See the guidelines and models

Screening support follows guidance from USPSTF, NCCN and the American Cancer Society. Risk assessment uses published and validated models, including Gail/BCRAT, Tyrer-Cuzick, BOADICEA and PLCO.

Help address a current compliance requirement

Non-grandfathered plans must cover personal navigation for breast and cervical cancer screening. Stage Zero provides that support and records when it was delivered. This gives your client documentation for its compliance review.

Portfolio fit

See where Stage Zero fits.

Stage Zero focuses on cancer risk and screening. It works with the programs your client already has.

General navigation platforms

Stage Zero identifies people who may need cancer screening based on risk and screening status. When someone needs broader help, the client's existing navigation program can take over.

Virtual cancer clinics and centers of excellence

Some virtual cancer clinics offer screening through their own medical teams. Stage Zero is for clients who want screening support without adding a new clinic or medical relationship. If another cancer program is already in place, Stage Zero can coordinate the handoff when cancer is diagnosed.

Carriers and TPAs

Stage Zero provides and documents screening navigation. The carrier or TPA continues to manage claims, networks and benefits.

Wellness platforms

Stage Zero handles cancer risk assessment and screening support. The existing wellness platform can continue to manage broader engagement and lifestyle programs.

Common questions

Consultant and broker FAQ

Does Stage Zero meet the HRSA navigation requirement on its own?

Stage Zero provides the personal, one to one screening navigation described for breast and cervical cancer. It also keeps records of the support delivered for your client's compliance file. The plan's legal counsel must decide whether the plan's overall compliance position is complete. Stage Zero provides the service and documentation that support that review.

My client already has a cancer program. Why add Stage Zero?

It depends on the program. Treatment focused programs often begin at or after a diagnosis. Stage Zero works before a diagnosis and supports the whole eligible workforce. Some virtual cancer clinics also offer screening through their own medical teams. Stage Zero is a smaller option that works with the doctors employees already have. For clients that mainly want more completed screenings and documented navigation, this focused program may fit better. If another cancer program is already in place, Stage Zero coordinates the handoff instead of duplicating it.

What evidence supports Stage Zero?

Stage Zero is building its own outcomes data and does not publish results it cannot support. The program uses published risk models and national screening guidance. The cost difference between earlier and later cancer diagnosis is also well documented. During a pilot, Stage Zero shows what is being measured and what your client can report at each stage.

How does Stage Zero make money? Could that create the wrong incentives?

Stage Zero charges a monthly base fee for each eligible person. Some fees are tied to navigation activity and program results, such as completed screenings. Payment is not tied to denying care or directing someone to a specific treatment. Stage Zero does not take financial risk on treatment decisions and does not provide treatment.
